Demi Lovato's downfall included drugs and Joe Jonas

Daddies, don't let your daughters grow up to be Disney stars. New accounts of pop singer and "Sonny with a Chance" star Demi Lovato's antics before checking into rehab for what her publicists have called "emotional and physical" issues are surfacing. Natch.


While accounts of her physical altercation with a dancer on the Jonas Brothers tour tells part of the story of her downward spiral, Texas college student Brian Payne tells Life & Style magazine that she was all up in the white powder at a party in North Richland Hills, Texas.


"She was doing line after line like a pro -- and she was 17 at the time," Payne describes. "I just remember her doing it as if she had been doing it for a long time. It didn't seem like something new to her."


"Inside" sources tell the magazine that the pain of her breakup with Joe Jonas only increased Lovato's self-destructive tendencies. "Demi's been on a tear lately," says the "insider." "She'll chug booze straight from the bottle."


Apparently, it was the altercation with the dancer that spurred her parents into action. "They overheard one of the dancers talking about it and freaked out," says the source. "They heard Demi was drinking, but the news that her partying was getting out of control shocked them -- and they confronted her immediately."
