Demi Lovato's 'Skyscraper' Will 'Wow' Do Something Awards

"If you are expecting anything less than 'wow,' you've got the wrong awards show," Nancy Lublin, CEO and Chief Old Person of DoSomething.org, said in a statement. "We are so psyched to have Demi's first public performance, a hot breakout band like Foster the People, and expect OneRepublic with B.o.B to be very loud!"

The big nominees include Lady Gaga, Justin Bieber, Prince William and Duchess Catherine, David Beckham, Scarlett Johansson, Russell Brand and Will Ferrell. Celebrities are nominated in a number of categories from Do Something Movie Star to Do Something Couple for helping to inspire young people in the world of philanthropy.

The show sets out to honor the "nation's best young world-changers who represent the pivotal 'do-ers' in their field, cause or issue." One lucky "do-er" will have the chance to win $100,000 for their cause. The five nominees this year are Taryn Guerrero Davis for the American Widow Project, David Schwartz for the Real Food Challenge, Sarah Cronk for the Sparkle Effect, Mark Kabban for YALLA (Youth And Leaders Living Actively) and Adam Lowy for Move for Hunger.

"This year's show will feature some of the hottest musicians performing the summer's biggest hits in celebration of these amazing young people's accomplishments," VH1 President, Tom Calderone, added.

Demi Lovato Calls 'Skyscraper' Her 'Cry For Help'

Demi Lovato is feeling better these days. Her ups and downs are evident in her latest single, "Skyscraper," which she said helped her confront her issues before she landed in treatment late last fall.

She recorded two versions — one last year during her darker days and one after she left treatment — but, she told E! News, "It just didn't feel the same, so we kept the original one. For me it was ... so symbolic, it being the song I recorded before treatment and yet it was providing a message. It's so crazy the way things played out, that it ended up being my symbol and it represented what I'm trying to spread the word about: getting help and rising above any issues that [I and] my fans are dealing with."

As emotionally draining as it was to record the track, she said it also hurt her physically to be in the studio working on it. "I was doubled over, just in pain. I remember thinking, 'This is kind of my cry for help' back then, because I hadn't spoken to anyone about these issues," she said in the interview with Ryan Seacrest. "And I hadn't gotten the help that I needed."

Those emotions are also touched on in the video, which will be released this week. "That video was an emotional release for me, like therapy. ... I kept crying, I was so emotionally invested. ... That's when I realized, that's what music videos are all about.

"There were so many things that represented my addictions and eating disorders and self-harm," she added about the video. "When I'm unraveling this black fabric ... it was the toxicity that took over my mind for so long, that oozed out of every pore that I had because I was suffering inside. ... I'm taking it off and walking on broken glass and powering through it."

Lovato is very open about the fact that, while she isn't hurting herself anymore, she still isn't 100 percent. "I'm not going to be perfect, but ... if I can make it through the day, that's all that matters," she said. "It's a daily journey, and it's definitely going to be a struggle that I'll have to deal with for the rest of my life."

While Demi Lovato heals herself after a stint in rehab and prepares to release a new album, Joe Jonas has his own thoughts about her next career move. After Joe and Demi had two successful installments of the Camp Rock film, Joe's open to doing a third.
He said: "I am not sure how Demi would feel about this, but she may be okay with it. It would be interesting to find out at least from her, about her thoughts on the rumor. At least if we had an idea about Demi’s feelings to see if this is even possible."
Meanwhile, Demi has been tweeting about recording in the studio and her fave food indulgence. She tweeted yesterday: "So... I buy all organic groceries and then I go out and get mcdonalds..... #oops 0:)"

Demi Lovato shot her first music video from her upcoming album June 16 and although we haven’t heard the song yet, we’re positive the 18-year-old singer’s makeup will be flawless. Why? She used the best talent in the biz — the Kardashian’s makeup artist, Joyce Bonelli!

“Today I’m…SHOOTING A NEW MUSIC VIDEO FOR MY NEW SINGLE!!!! ARE YOU EXCITED??? :D,” Demi wrote early Thursday morning.

Later she wrote, “@KhloeKardashian @KimKardashian @kourtneykardash umm… I’m kidnapping @joycebonelli….. Hehe 0:)”

Joyce has become a staple in Kim, Kourtney and Khloe‘s lives — so they weren’t about to let their number one makeup artist get swiped from under their noses!

“Don’t mess w me woman! LOL,” Kim, 30, responded.
Khloe chimed in on Twitter too, writing, “Sorry but then ill have 2 kill you! She’s amazing! Right?”
After the shoot, Demi tweeted, “@KimKardashian @KhloeKardashian hehe love you both!!! Thanks for letting me steal her today!! I’ll text pics :D”

Joyce loved the attention from her number one clients and couldn’t help but stir the pot, saying, “Fiiiiiiiiiiiiigghhtttt jk XO.”

If there’s one thing the Kardashians consistently have down, it’s their hair and makeup. All three girls always look flawless, and that’s in large part due to Joyce’s hard work. That said, we cannot wait to see what Joyce did with Demi. We bet she looks amazing!

Joe Jonas says his new song, “I’m Sorry,” is about one of his relationships. Is he finally apologizing to Demi Lovato, or is it an ode to one of his other celebrity girlfriends?

We all know Joe Jonas isn’t exactly going to win the “Best Boyfriend” award. From Taylor Swift to Ashley Greene, Joe has famously fallen out of love just as quickly as he falls in. The notorious play boy says he’s about to apologize to one of his sweethearts in his new song, “I’m Sorry” — but will it be about the one girl he hurt the most?

“‘I’m Sorry’ is really honest,” Joe, 21, told E! Online’s Marc Malkin June 16. “It’s saying, I screwed up. I didn’t cheat on the person, but just I messed up and I wanted the person back. I’m just putting it all on the table saying, ‘I’m sorry. I wish I could have you back.’”

Joe dramatically dumped his girlfriend, former best friend and co-star, Demi Lovato, last year, only to join her on tour months later and bring along his new girlfriend, Ashley Greene. Demi, 18, subsequently, suffered from a breakdown, quit the tour and shipped off to treatment in Chicago for “emotional and physical issues.” Although Joe didn’t technically do anything wrong, it’s widely presumed he played some role in Demi’s problems.

“Those kind of songs are really hard because you know that person is going to hear it,” he said. “[But] I’ve never really reached out to somebody about a song. I feel every artist is entitled to write honestly. So I’ve never reached out to them unless they reached out to me.”

Out of all the girls he’s dated, I think Joe owes Demi an apology most. She was more than just a random girl he dated — she was a family friend, a co-worker and most importantly, she considered him one of her best friends. Even if he didn’t actually cheat on her with Ashley, he disrespected her by flaunting his new girlfriend in Demi’s face while they were on tour. It was insensitive and rude!

When Joe Jonas Fell In Love With Britney Spears + Joe Talks about his song "I'm Sorry"

"The first CD that I ever bought was Britney Spears," Jonas told me the other day while promoting "See No More," the first single off his upcoming debut solo album. "It was at a 7-Eleven and I was like, 'Can I get this?' It was literally her EP and I picked it up and, of course, I fell in love with her. It was an early crush for me."

How serious was the young Jonas' crush? Well, he had a poster of Brit on his bedroom wall. "It was the innocent looking picture," he said with a smile. "I think she was in a pink T-shirt."

Jonas said his camp was talking to Spear's about hitting the road together for her Femme Fatale tour "At one point we were considering that," he said. "But they wanted to go with an all-girl tour, which is really understandable. Nicki Minaj is fantastic. So I have a couple of other options this summer that are looking pretty good. Nothing's really confirmed yet, whether it's going to be supporting someone on tour or just going out solo."

Demi Lovato's Mom Shows Support With Tattoo

Demi Lovato’s mother showed her support for the teenager while she was in rehab by going under the needle to get a matching tattoo.


Demi checked into a clinic last year to deal with a number of personal issues, including an eating disorder, self-harming and bipolar disorder.

She was so overwhelmed by the support of her fans while she was in treatment, she had the words “Stay Strong” tattooed on her wrists as a permanent tribute as well as a heart inspired by her fans. The 18-year-old has now revealed her mother, Dianna, surprised her by gettng a matching heart inked herself.

In a series of posts on Twitter, Demi writes, “My mom’s #staystrong tattoo! She got one too!… My mom surprised me with it when I was in treatment because that’s how all you guys were showing support… And she wanted to show me how… proud she was of me for getting help and changing my life.. I love her so much.”

Demi’s mom isn’t the only one that got the heart tattoo as well. She followed up with a tweet saying, “OH! AND.. @m_callahan, @lisamorrisshow and @JennaSchubart got it too!!!! I love them so much!!”

Demi Lovato talks about Choosing Friends with Seventeen

It’s really important to be aware of the people who you’re hanging out with—the people who you surround yourself with—when you’re at an age where you’re trying to figure out who you are. I think a lot of us subconsciously rely on our peers and our friends to tell us exactly who we are, because we really don’t know ourselves. So when we’re growing up, it’s a really tricky time, and we have to make sure that the people that we’re hanging out with are a positive influence on us.


We don’t realize it, but we do look to our friends for fashion advice, and to help make decisions that will affect our futures. It’s really important to remember that you are who your friends are, so if you’re hanging around a bad crowd, people will perceive you as part of that crowd.

The kinds of people that I’m surrounding myself with now are people who are beneficial not only to my recovery but also to the lifestyle that I want to have, which is peaceful and serene. I look for people who I can hang out with without relying on bad habits to have fun—people who I can go bowling with, or literally just watch TV and knit with, people who love me for me and don’t care if I’m tall or short, fat or thin. My friends today love me for me—they’re people who I can act like myself around.
